I 100% agree with rusher98. A wrench should only be used to remove a filter!
The general rule is to tighten the 'new" filter 1/2-3/4 of a turn BY HAND from the point in
which the gasket mates with the seating surface on the motor. Otherwise the rubber has a
a much greater chance of squeezing out of it's groove after a few heating cycles. Something
you will never notice until its too late and most of the oil has been pumped on the ground.

@caquillo07 I own an 07. Bought it used with 35k miles on it in 09. It has about 60k miles on it right now and haven't had a single problem other than changing tires and the battery once. Easy to maintain and fun to drive. I drive it daily too. Definitely look into it :)
you never ,ever tighten a filter with a torque wrench!!!

How do you lift the car?.....I have jack stands......did you use a floor jack?
