  • I play this every weekend with my dad and I cant get enough of this game!

  • @tusinuka as irgi!

  • Is there a similar game, but space themed? I search very hard for one... Space strategy, based on hexes? anything??

  • Game isn't luck. Any dice and card game has some sort of luck to it. That's the nature of the beast. However this game also adds a ton of strategy with the amount of troops you move, where htey move to, and what zone they're in. If you're getting bad luck and pulling recon cards, you're forced to change your strategy to more of a defensive tactic. It's not that you're going to lose, you just have to change your style of play.

  • @ShaneCopseysTV I was in the same trouble, but now I will buy mem 44

  • @TurdCaptain I disagree with your statement that Risk involves less luck. The amount of damage you do to an opponent is also determined by dice rolls in Risk, and therefore you would also expect to see one unit taking out fifteen if the dice go that units way.

  • @TurdCaptain In case you never noticed, "luck" (the unknown variable) has always affected strategy and tactics throughout the history of warfare. The US victory at Midway; the Norman victory at Hastings; Napoleon's lucky (not clever) victory at Arcole; you can even argue that Wellington was lucky the Prussians showed up at Waterloo when they did. Anyone who has ever been in a battle knows that one fluke event can trash your strategy. Dice rolls in games effectively replicate happenstance.

  • The game of luck. There is zero strategy here. You have to be lucky enough to get both cards and dice. Once you see one infantry take out 15 tanks, you will know what I'm talking about. No matter what strategy you think you know, it will all be wiped out by the massive luck in this game. Yahtzee and Risk have less luck. Another very annoying feature of this game is the fact that an infantry unit - whether it has one or four men in it, does the same damage. TOI is far better.

  • Very, very nice board game and good review, thanks. I only have the basic set, but can't wait to get some expansions and customizing some figures etc!
