Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, three girls were mourning the death of their parents. The previous week, their parents, Christina and David Louise, were in a car accident coming home from a work party. David was in fact a bit tipsy, and wasn't paying attention to the cars speeding on the highway he was pulling onto. Christina tried to warn him, but he was not listening. He pulled out without looking, and was hit by an oil truck going seventy miles per hour down the highway. Their car flipped and rolled off into a ditch on the side of the road. Both Christina and David were thrown from the car into the road due to the fact that neither of the two was wearing seatbelts. Their bodies, being in the middle of the highway, were run over by a couple cars before anyone could do anything. Ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks arrived immediately because everyone who saw the accident had immediately called, but the two were pronounced dead at the scene.

Emily, age 21, Molly, age 19, and Olivia, age 15, were gathered on the couch in the living room of their house in Rockland, Maine. They were sobbing violently when the phone rang. The faint ringing in the other room was barely audible over the harsh sobs of the girls. Emily, being the oldest, gathered herself enough to answer the phone.

"Hello?" she managed to choke out through her tears.
"Emily, dearie, its Grandma," the girls' grandmother Linda spoke gently on the other line.
"Hi Mom-Mom. How are you?" Emily said, trying to stay calm. She knew if her grandmother heard the crying in the other room, she would adopt the girls and take them back to Delaware where she lived.
"How are you girls doing?" Linda asked sincerely.
"We- we're fine.." Emily sighed.
"How are your sisters?" the grandmother questioned.
"F-fine.. We're fine Mom-Mom, really," Emily insisted.
"Why don't I believe you, Emmy?" Linda sighed, knowing how distraught the girls really were.
Emily took a deep breath. "Be- because I'm lying... We're not fine."
"Please, come live with me. I'll help you girls through this, and little Olivia needs someone to take care of her," Emily's grandmother said.
"We don't want to move to Delaware Mom-Mom. There's nothing to do there. It's boring!" Emily tried to explain to her grandmother.
"Baby, please. It's really for the best. You don't' have to stay forever. Just for a couple weeks," Linda said.
"Fine. We'll think about it," Emily gave in.
"Alright. Bye sweetheart. I'll talk to you later," Linda smiled.
"Bye. I love you." Emily hung up the phone and returned back to her sisters.

Emily sat between her two younger sisters and held them close to her. She had calmed down after hearing the voice of her grandmother, so she felt the need to help her sisters. Molly was crying hardest of the two girls. Her eye make-up was running down her cheeks, and her tears made her cheeks glisten. Olivia was crying gently, still not wanting to believe that her parents were truly dead. Emily hugged her younger sisters as she soothingly rubbed their backs. She whispered words into their ears such as "Everything will be fine" or "Sh, calm down. Everything is okay." She knew she had to say these things even though she didn't believe so. Eventually her sisters had stopped crying, and they looked up at her, waiting for her to say something.

"Grandma called," Emily sighed.
"Did you tell her that we're not moving to Delaware with her?" Molly questioned.
"Well, I told her that... at first," Emily said.
"What do you mean?" Olivia asked, still wiping at her cheeks and eyes trying desperately to get rid of her tears.
"She really wants us to move there. Not forever though. Just for a couple weeks or months," Emily explained.
"Heck no. I don't want to live in Delaware! It's stupid!" Olivia shouted.
"Sh, Livy, calm down. It'll be okay," Molly spoke.
"So, I know you're not going to let us have a say in this. Just tell us what you are going to do," Olivia sighed, looking Emily in the eyes. Her blue eyes were filled with grief, making Emily frown.
"We're moving..." Emily said softly. "I- I just think it's for the best."
"Fine," Olivia pouted, still not wanting to move in with her grandmother.

Emily nodded and went back into the kitchen to call her grandmother. She waited impatiently as the phone rang on the other line. On the final ring she heard her grandmother's familiar, soft voice.
"Hello?" the voice asked.
"Mom-Mom, its me, Emily. I talked to Molly and Livy about moving in with you," Emily sighed.
"And...?" the voice asked.
"We're coming."
