Find us on Facebook and contribute YOUR "Dear Me" letter for our next video!

"If you wrote a letter to your 15 year old self, how would it begin?"

This project began as a simple assignment for class. Within days it grew to be so much more.

Whether we have regrets or fond memories of our teen years, we all have something we wish our 15 year old selves would have known. While each of the experiences behind the letters are unique, the stories they represent are universal. All together they make a shared coming of age story that is both sweet and bittersweet.

Throughout the course of this project I've been privileged to learn the stories behind these "Dear Me" letters, some of them can be shared here.

I hope that this project will continue to take on a life of it's own, that readers will contribute their own "Dear Me" letters so that the messages of endurance, hope, perseverance, triumph and growth can continue.

  • Dear 15 year old me. Care more about your grades and less about the jerks who all broke your heart. They aren't helping you get into college the way your grades would have.

  • Dear 15 year old me,

Tell someone about the abuse at home.Get far away NOW.

Ps.19 now and should of relaized that along time ago.

  • Dear 15 year old me, don't run away because of bullying, and don't cry when you had to stand up to them alone, and nothing else worked. Your grades will suffer, and you'll have nothing to show for all those years of mental and physical abuse.

    16 now, it's too late. </3

  • I'm not sure if it's been asked already (there are way too many comments to scroll through!) and i've had a look in the description tab. What is the name of this piece of music? It's so sweet

  • Dear 15 year old me,

don't take life too hard, you have still plenty to do and to see.

don't worry about the mistakes, you'll pull trough.

smile more and worry less, you're good as you are.

  • Dear 15 year old me, The worst year of your life is coming up. You will lose two of most amazing gentlemen in your world. Hold on, be strong and never forget they loved you. Remember Sunday mornings and be thankful you got at least one proper goodbye. Be strong.

  • Dear 15 year old me,

You shouldn't waste your life now, work hard in school to achieve your goals of becoming a pilot, you'll soon realize that you shouldn't try to have fun in school all the time now, and more focused on grades and education, so when your older you won't have ruined anything. and make your parents proud, like they never were for your older siblings when they blew it.

  • Dear 15 year old me,

You are smart. You are beautiful. You are amazing. You are brave. You are loving. You are caring. You are important. Distancing yourself from your real friends hurts them and you. Whatever they say about your life style, religion, or whatever else does not matter. You were put on this earth to shine, and bring smiles to everyone's faces, you were brought to walk in the fallen's footsteps, and finish their dreams. You are perfect.

    RIP Noah Fable Rowman, 1988-2007.

  • Dear 15 year old me, You're beautiful. Don't listen to the bullies and be yourself. You have great friends that will be by your side. Bullies are just jealous of you. People love you for who you are

  • dear 15 year old me,

cutting was never the answer. you should have seen a therapist when your mother offered, even the school district got involved with trying to get you help. now that your older, your left with a bunch of nasty scars. never disobey your mother, she is ALWAYS right. listen to your loved ones and speak up when in doubt. your loved.

  • This is a great video..... but when i saw the 'Quit the cheerleading team" part it blew my mind. For some people cheerleading keeps them out of trouble. Out from doing drugs and having sex with guys who dont care about them.

  • Dear 15-year-old Me,

Stop caring about what they say about you--you are beautiful to God and that's all that matters. Also stop abusing your relationships! you're going to get caught!!
