@dokkiro There are over 1000 of styles. I saw a few techniques from Sanda in mma. (Cung Le)
But most styles of kung fu are for self defense n' not for comeptitions. If a Shaolin Monk fight in mma he can just use 10% of his techniques, because of the rules.

@MartialArtsCN No Kungfu is definitely not just one style. There're snake monkey eagle all kinds of animal imitations. So bring it all on to the MMA. What a joke. Taiwanese Karate practitioners thought they were jokes and they did kick their asses. LOL.

@MartialArtsCN Definitely Southern. Southern has a particular movement with the hands that make it different to Northern. Southern borrows alot of the footwork from Northern though. This style has a stronger hand use than the Northern does. Northern has stronger use of kicks and foot work.

@hazza3 Really southern? I thougt it's nothern, because the footwork etc... But maybe monk shi xing hong knows the southern. Do you know which style of the snake (cobra, etc...?)

The first isn't prayingmantis its snake. PRayingmantis uses both hands evenly. snake uses 1 hand over the other.
As for Muay thai vs Kung fu. It depends on the fighter and how much they have trained.
The toughness of the body wins all.
