Looks to me like a broken rocker arm.. and from the sound of it sounds like number 2 cyl? Im thinking intake vavle?? lol

@Kenny6253 Glad to hear you fixed it. Ironic that I also had a broken rocker on my No.2 intake valve, in my E30 325i Tech1. Sadly, now that I've done a valve adjustment, ther is a loud knock (not tap) from somewhere in there. Took it all back apart, and nothing looks bad, all gaps are good... Sounds like it's out of time, but only intermitent, and only one cylinder/valve.

hay Kenny what was wrong w/ur car do?was it the head gasket? your catalytic converter ?what was it?I like ur clips do you do great work on those BMW.CIAO...
u mightve blown a head gaskit dude i have an e30 with a m20 engine in it and it ripped a head bolt and blew the head gaskit so u shud open ur valve cover and see if al ur bolts are if any of em broke then thats bad also check if ur coolent light came on if it did then u mixed oil and water which is casued by a blown head gaskit

dude.. haha i ended up rebuilding the head. i know what im doin, this video is from months ago when i hadnt found the problem yet.. the problem was a broken rocker arm but i replaced many things in the process of fixing it including the head gasket. if the head gasket were bad, it wouldnt affect the way it runs like this anyways. but its all good now! :]
