Can you etch inside of a dish?

I just finished a 9 x 13 glass baking dish for a wedding gift. It turned our gorgeous! I put both names, the wedding date and a bride and groom with flowers on the bottom. I then put their last name on the side. I used the anchor hocking bake ware and it turned out great. I am really impressed at how beautiful this turned out. Thanks for the info and video!

I've done this for about a year. As a teacher, my middle schoolers made Mother's Day gifts with it this year. I've left the Armor Etch on overnight due to large numbers being made, and it really makes no difference than 5 minutes.
Now friends randomly ask me to make things for them to give as gifts. This year, I'm etching small glass jars to hold homemade spiced tea (PiraTea). We are the Pirates.

ohhhh... and PLEASE wear gloves!

use armour etch for 1 minute for rubons and up to 5 for vinyl
I'm sure you could etch inside a glass also but then food would get caught in there and I wonder if things that are tomato based would stain it...but you could try. Why not?

Yes, I would recommend less time on thinner glass. What you can do is leave etching cream on for five minutes, rinse it off and gently peel back an edge of the vinyl. See how you like it. If you need more, press vinyl back down and add more etching cream. Wait another 5 minutes. Check again.

It was some cheap vinyl for the wall that I picked up at Lowe's. It is NOT contact paper, which would be much more difficult to remove.

Oh, it's corrosive. BUT it's not immediately corrosive. You just feel a slight itch if you get it on your hands, when they aren't under water. WIth the water running off them, it's really not a problem. But you can be sure I am washing my hands thoroughly afterwards! You could also wear gloves. I just couldn't find any...WHOOPS!

Some glass won't etch - especially Pyrex! Use cheap glass from Walmart or Dollar Store and leave on a MINIMUM of 10 minutes or even longer. Make sure it is coated very heavily!
