Lastly, if you are a student there now just realize colleges have been this way with money. It should be allocated effeciently and it is, but sports and nice facilities are used to draw students. BG did put money into the Wolfe center for the arts too. Unfortunately as crazy obsessed as Americans are with organized sports money for arenas and venues will always be requested. Many cities use new sports facilities as a draw. Americans are addicted to organized sports.

Thirdly, BG has had excellent mens and womens basketball teams. The mens team just won the MAC regular season in 2009. And in 2000 and 1997 most recently. Go read the media guides and there is a youtube video on Anderson arena that is a good highlight of mens and womens basketball and womens volleyball. mens and womens bb teams combined have 21 MAC regular season championships just to give some idea.

BG has always done everything right. Great balance between all that a university has to offer. Secondly, BG has always been well-known for multiple reasons. From superstar athletes to oscar winning actors, BG is a gem amongst gem. Campus is gorgeous. In the 90's the nightlife was the best. And believe me, I have older siblings who attended other Ohio schools. Their nightlife couldn't compare, especially back then to BG.

First, this video is awesome. Great mix of the theme, showing what "helped" contribute to it's existance. As an alumni I understand students having to pay more for sports venues. College should be more about academics and affordable housing. BG has always been dedicated to academics first.

The whole thing was a huge waste of money, money that carol cartwright took to the bank, as a member of the KEY BANK board. What was really needed was new ACADEMIC facilities, and instead what we got was this, as well as housing more expensive than paying for a mortgage on a 2bedroom flat. After everything was all built, she assigned all of the property to her 501c3, and paid out a cool million to her and her cronies. BGSU where fraud and ineptitude prevail, and students are shit on constantly.
