Shahanshah (King of Kings) Akbar was of Muslim Mungol background but his tolerance & respect for all religion led him to take the best of all religion in his domain and mold it into a newly created religion that he hoped would unify his country. Din-i-Ilahi was more of an ethical system. It prohibited lust, sensuality, slander & pride, considering them sins. Piety, prudence, abstinence and kindness are the core virtues. He was a wise & great ruler in the same mold as Cyrus the great.
