gays and lesbians have always been allowed to get married even to each other just of different sex and happen to be in traditional marriages as we speak. Are you implying that maybe they are all living a lie or unhappy in some way? if your going to say that they would be miserable in living such a way, then welcome to the club. everybody , gay or straight, is equally having a miserable time with opposite-sex marriage. what your asking for is SPECIAL RIGHTS that exist outside the constitution.

if you go to wikipedia and type in Baker v. Nelson, the case will show you that the same court in Loving v. Virginia not only distinguished same sex marriage from interracial marriage, but established it as a right that does not exist under the constitution and never did.
so the 14th amendment does not confer a RIGHT gay marriage anymore than it does for polygamy
continuing.....
therefore, Same sex couples do not have a SPECIAL right to redefine marriage for everybody else; the " will of the people" have a FUNDAMENTAL right under the tenth amendment to do such a task because we live in a democracy not an aristocracy. In baker v. nelson, the case called citizens for equal protection will show you in their conclusion that citizens do have a right to vote on rights just as long as they are NEW rights , such as same sex marriage.

just what i thought . as soon as your side is exposed to be the SPECIAL interest group that your really are, you runaway from the truth of your position and hide behind your emotions and emotions only.
if thats the way it is, then what this shows is that its not about justice or the constitution but it about SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS.

It has nothing to do with special interest: It has to do with human rights and morals...and if you ask me kind sir, I think you're self righteous. I'm not the one going around searching the same topics and commenting so sure that your the one who's "RIGHT."

In a private ceremony or church marriage, the state or society do not have a right to tell you who you can or cannot marry. however, as soon as you step outside the private realm of RELIGIOUS marriage and enter into the public sphere of CIVIL marriage, you are subject to the law and public opinion or vote because civil marriage is about public policy.

Do you not realize that the lgbtq community has been treated as second class citizens, and are being denied the right to the "persuit of happiness?" Remember, church and state are seperate. Our Civil Rights Should not be voted on. We lgbtq are minorities. I'm not conserned about Religious Marriage. You are so wrong in my eyes, but I have spoken my two cents, and I don't feel the need to argue with someone as ignorant as you! Good Bless You! I hope one day you see your ignorance the way others do
