School systems, governments break state law by promoting sales-tax votes
"In 2010, the state legislature passed laws expressly prohibiting municipalities, counties, and local boards of education from using public funds to endorse or oppose referendums," said Daren Bakst, JLF Director of Legal and Regulatory Studies, who also sent copies of the letters to the State Board of Elections and to elections boards in all three counties.

@seaweaver1 I spoke against the scheduling as it owes more to gaming the system than trying to advance pluralism. That said, rural polls were planned to be and are going to be opened - that's State law - for this one issue. The Republican Party had zero to do with it. Cost of election? $84,000. Of that, roughly half is the cost, is to open 11 rural polls.
Last time a majority - not overwhelming - in the municipalities voted for it. Shame the BOCC didn't wait until May, 2012 but there it is.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT? what tomfoolery is this? Cannot figure out how to get Cabellas or Bass Pro to build in between the interstates? LET THEM BUILD THEIR OWN INFRASTRUCTURE AND GIVE THEM A 6 YEAR TAX BREAK. HECK GIVE THEM 10 YEARS AND THEY WILL BE BUILDING ON TOP OF EACH OTHER.
Hey...Orange County...why not take the 35 thousand dollars set aside for "Latino Services"(metal health and "quality of life)....AND USE IT TO BUILD THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE 85/40 CORNER

IS IT NOT SCARY AS HELL THE COUNTY WAS NOT EVEN GOING TO OPEN THE POLLS OUTSIDE OF THE MUNICIPALITIES UNTIL THE REPUBLICANS STARTED RAISING CAIN? WHAT KIND OF TRICK IS THAT?
THE RURAL VOTE IS INTENTIONALLY TARGETED. THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO SHOW UP.

Is it not interesting that the School board has plans to spend this money ALREADY? (everyone know the way you fix public schools is more money...it always works...until you need more money)
