This tutorial shows how to work with file/directory permissions and ownership in Ubuntu. I display how to change groups, change ownership, and change permissions for individual directories and files as well as using the recursive flag from the command line (CLI).

  • Thanks a lot, helped me in my multi-wordpress site and to allow me to use WinSCP to upload files and the owner be the apache user. Thanks and very easy to follow and now understand file permissions.
