  • Hi Steve. Love it!!! My chops have just left the building.

You seem to use a kinda rolled in chop-set. I've been working on this over the last coupla years with slow but sure success. Have you always played that way? And, have you always had a good range?

  • no I didn't always have high chops

Ive been working on my rang, power, endurance and all the things that make trumpet so difficult for 25+ years

keep working and keep an open mind with new ideas and new equipment

    good luck

    Steve

  • P.S. - I am the publicist for one of the most acclaimed young jazz trumpet players in North America right now. I know what great trumpet players sound like. Steve Reid embodies these traits. You sir - are nobody, and I find it both deplorable and disrespectful to see you giving "advice" to a player of that calibre. Steve's too much a gentleman to say anything. I am not. And THAT'S what this is about. (You don't seem very bright, so I thought I'd be explicit about why I'm slamming you.)

  • Wow apparently you have no idea who this guy is. I don't think he needs any advise on how to warm up and play high. Steve Reid played lead for KC and the sunshine band and Brian Setzer. um yeah.... you should probably go check out his web site.

  • damn... i have to hold a high G above the staff and i'm having trouble even getting there... then i see this and i'm like aww...

  • Is the first 'tune' you play to get your pitch center something you made up, or is it a song?

  • I bet he can suck a mean dick.

  • I'll take your challenge tough guy.

  • I never knew he was a neck puffer....

  • Despite the sound quality, I love your control. Sounds great.

  • Ok. Well... That sure was a stupid argument over internet material. Anyways, some really sick playing! One of my favorite lead players for sure
