My grandfather, Bert Rollins, worked many years as his "right-hand man". I have a few letters signed by him to my grandparents.

I've lived in Santa Clarita for over ten years. I have been to Hart's house many times. I played football against a high school named after Hart for four years. Our school district is named after him.
This is the FIRST time I have EVER heard this man's voice.

Not exactly the voice of a cowboy but he must have been great in Shakespeare

You can tell that he was a Shakespearian trained actor.

This was a special introduction that appeared in the 1939 reissue of Hart's 1925 silent Western classic, "Tumbleweeds". It was his only sound appearance on film, and he knew it would be his last one as well. He delivers a heartfelt valedictory on his screen career and the American West he loved so much. Seven years later, on June 23, 1946, William S. Hart died at his ranch in Newhall. Today, it's "William S. Hart Park".
