Dato' Seri Ong Tee Keat, Minister of Transport is seen here pressing the air horn as part of the launching ceremony for the arrival of the first Electric Train Set (ETS 01) for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). This train which is 6-cars long and made from Hyundai Rotem of South Korea will be fully utilised for the Rapid Intercity Service between Seremban and Ipoh. It will also cut travelling time from the current 3 Hours to just 1 Hour and 55 Mins from KL to Ipoh as this train can accomodate to speeds up to 140km/h. This train is Wheelchair Accessible and has a toilet specially designed for the Wheelchair bound. This train boast new corfortable and ergonomic seats and provides passengers with small cafe onboard. A total of 5 sets has been purchased and will start revenue service on April 2010.

  • just another cheaply made piece of junk hyundai. I should know I sold there pathetic cars for years, until I saw how unreliable they are.

  • talk about a dramatic entrance :-) thanks for the video. which they did that sort of thing in Canada. Mind you we haven't seen any new trains in our country since the 70s
