He wanted to make "even more overtly sentimental tunes"; such a loss that he didn't get to continue to do that. He once said he sang about love because that's all there was, all that really mattered. It's obvious he meant that when you listen to "She Makes My Day" or "True Love". He also said he thought "cynicism was lazy". I think he meant that we have to work to find what's good in life, that it's easy not to do that. Such a sensitive man. I really miss him...
