Since fall 2009 there have been ongoing visits by members of the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) to social justice organizers and activists. These visits are in addition to CSIS' ongoing harassment of targeted communities. The People's Commission Network released a community advisory in May in response to those visits.

The People's Commission Network has produced two short videos re-creating CSIS visits to the homes of two Montrealers. The videos advocate a "Don't talk, Don't listen" approach of total and complete non-cooperation with CSIS.

TAKE ACTION

-- We encourage everyone to share these videos and advisory widely, in your networks and within your community. You can download a pamphlet version of the advisory, in pdf format, at the following link:

-- We encourage community groups to ENDORSE the advisory as a way of building collective solidarity against CSIS harassment. An endorsement means your group agrees with the following statement: "We support and
endorse the People Commission Network's Community Advisory concerning the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS)." Please send your group
endorsement to: abolissons@gmail.com.

-- The People's Commission Network also offers "know your rights" workshops specifically about CSIS. If your group or community is interested in hosting a workshop for your members, contact us at
abolissons@gmail.com.

  • Don't listen to this video, tell CSIS all your information unless you want to grow lonely and old like that grandma bitch

  • Good idea, give CSIS agents a hard time when they are just trying to do their jobs which happens to be in the interests of National security. I bet you feel great about yourself !

  • We should have the CI eH?

  • @commissionpopulaire well in all honesty, we are probably not aware of most of the work they do in the interest of national security. Yes, 'national security' is often used as a excuse to push through an alternate agenda, BUT it doesn't mean that CSIS is just some gov' tool to scare people. They still carry (alone) a great responsibility to ensure our safety, and interests. We just take that for granted, among many other things.

  • This comment should be removed: it is abusive, sexist, and ageist. Disgusting.

  • @3x0rcyst3m Why is this sexist and offensive remark still here?

  • Government officials use "national security' to justify a lot of sketchy policies and actions. But when you get down to it, it doesn't mean a lot. Whose "nation"? Whose "security"? What kind of "security"? CSIS doesn't make me feel secure; i don't believe they act for my security or the security of most of us in Canada or Quebec.

  • @xSkarprox yea well if you have done nothing wrong theres clearly no reason for them to be talking to you..the reason most common that they talk to people is because they dont want people to make political stands against the government ....i think the best thing to do is to ask why they are interviewing you

  • The CSIS doesn't even have the power to make arrests! If you aren't doing anything wrong, then they won't bother you.

For once we have an intelligence organization who you know isn't conspiring to test out LSD on innocent people. So let them do their jobs! Because chances are if they're investigating something, it means they actually have TIPs on something more serious.

It's easy to cry social justice or conspiracy (America's disinformation to look powerful?), but enemy spies are real threats!

  • Stupid how people think CSIS are James Bond people running around with guns.. Lol, CSIS doesn't even carry guns they just do stuff to help you out and or other people...

  • Ignorance.
