Yamaha Motor's SMT Assembly System's YS12 : DigInfo

Yamaha Motor exhibited their new YS12 which is part of their new SMT Assembly System at JISSO Production Technology Exhibition 2008 which has an increased production efficiency due to its new recognition system and multi- head design. The machine is designed to be more compact than conventional models and thus classified under the ultra small high speed modular category. A rate of 36,000 chips per hour is the optimal running speed which means a chip is placed every 0.1 seconds. The maximum feeder capacity is 120 lanes and this technology is useable on large PCB at a size of about 510mm by 460mm

I have personally used this machine and i agree, it sure is faster than the old YV and even YG series machines, but you pay a premium and in addition, you need to buy the new electronic feeders to go with it.
