My second prototype. 2 DOF. Both servos are HS-300. I'm using the Golden rod system to open and close the fingers completely. However, I've noticed a physical issue that causes the fingers to open as the gripper it rotated tot he rear. I will need to make another prototype.

  • Yes, this test was just for range of motion and was under the control of an RC receiver and controller. Gripper test 3 is with an Atmel AVR and a IR ranger. Also, these are cheap analog servos at "hunt" more so that the newer digital ones. If I were serious about building this again, I want to get my hands on the AX12's I think :D

  • what motor?

  • @plod33157 Just some simple servos. These are the JR NES-517 for the wrist and a HS-81 micro servo for the fingers.

  • The gripper is made from PVC that I bought at the local HobbyTownUSA. The battery is to hold the test platform in place. The gripper is designed to be attached to a mobile base. Testing is done with RC but would be controlled by MCU in implementation.
