That's why you always, always, ALWAYS keep the reciept after buying a used game. I have yet to buy a used game that wasn't damaged, sometimes playable, but always has something wrong with it.
Sometimes with Gamestop and Blockbuster, the problem with used games isn't always someone selling back a damaged game. Those stores also allow rentals (which are even more likely to get damaged from being passed around), and then sell the game when it's so damaged, no one will rent it.
