This is a clip of dead drift/indicator fly fishing for winter steelhead. It is taken on a coastal river in Oregon, and it was filmed on New Years Day. A good day of winter steelhead fly fishing it was as we both hooked a couple of fish. Fish were present in good numbers on this day out on the water.

  • Many lines to be honest, but I like long bellied lines and long rear tapers for that type of fishing.

  • I don't see why more people don't fish this way. People who are just swinging big intruders all the time are often wasting their time, especially in cold water.

  • Very nice vid and excellent technique. What line do you use?

  • ive just started fly fishing a few months ago and i wish i could cast like that, are there any tips you could give me on how to get the fly that far out!

  • You are great caster. Love seeing the stack mends over that fast seam.
