@konvict63 Before NATO and the UN was the League of Nations; before that was the Second Treaty of Paris and the Peace of Westphalia. Each of these was meant to end the horrors of war, and each of them has failed in turn. The UN and NATO, given enough time, will also fail. It's a sad truth, but a sad truth is still true.
