Harvested Gracilaria
From Nuisance to a Renewable Resource
America's estuaries are an "untapped resource" rich with Gracilaria algae. As development has expanded, massive amounts of non-point source nutrient runoff have been leaking into our estuaries causing excessive blooms of algae that have begun to take over the environment and kill off native species that have been there for centuries. We have found a way to safely harvest sufficient quantities of this Gracilaria to clean up the estuaries, while at the same time creating commercial uses for the algae that will prove profitable in products such as cattle feed, methane, agar, bio-fuel and much more.
