Hi Sean (or is it Shawn?). No matter what, you're intent was to offer kind and free assistance to appreciative ones. I do, however, have one insight that would have made this video much easier.
Borrow 2 from 644 (now, 642) and giving it to 238 (now, 240). Now just add: 642 + 240 = 882. Two simple steps that can indeed be done in the head.

Another easy way to add 2 + 2
step one- Add 1027 to each number it will become 1029 + 1029
step two- now add 1029 + 1029 in your head. oh it's simple. it is 2058.
step three- now multiply 1027 by 2 and subtract the answer from 2058. it would be 4.
step four- check your answer using a scientific calculator. you could use a computer too. Amazing ... isn't it :)
