@ageshero Fluorescent lamps gets hot only on the sides, where the electrodes are placed. The rest of the tube can be handled without too much problems, especially the longer ones.
The tube itself doesn't emit any radiation except the light itself, it's the ballast that does.

Why was he holding the light? dont those things get really hot and emit some kind of radiation?
