  • @ageshero Fluorescent lamps gets hot only on the sides, where the electrodes are placed. The rest of the tube can be handled without too much problems, especially the longer ones.

    The tube itself doesn't emit any radiation except the light itself, it's the ballast that does.

  • Why was he holding the light? dont those things get really hot and emit some kind of radiation?

  • It's a little over my head but still fascinating

  • remember, this episode came out in like 2001, so I'm sure they've improved the process since then.

  • @bowersbros who said they werent all heated at once and since in the video it bends 3 in about 15 seconds i say its possible
