http://www.wolfevideo.com/products/yes-nurse-no-nurse/ — Get it on DVD from WolfeVideo.com! WINNER: Audience Award for Best Film at the 2004 San Francisco Lesbian & Gay Film Festival! Vibrant production design, campy fashions, unbelievably catchy tunes and whimsical choreography come together to make this candy-colored update of a classic Dutch TV series an absolute must-see! Yes Nurse, No Nurse is a spectacular fantasy musical recounting the adventures of Nurse Klivia (played by the wonderful Loes Luca) and the residents of her somewhat unusual Rest Home. Their nasty gay landlord and next-door neighbour Mr Boordevol (Paul Kooij) is eager to have them all evicted so he can repossess the property. When the Home's resident "crazy inventor," The Engineer (Beppe Costa in a terrific performance), causes yet another explosion, Bourdevol drags them before the local magistrate, but is once again foiled. The charming Paul de Leeuw co-stars as the effeminate hairdresser (who has a special relationship with Boordevol).

  • @Dutch3DMaster Because it was only shown on gay movie festivals in America, so only a gay audience actualy got to see it. No one knows why though. There are at most only hints at a gay relationship, if you can even call it that. Once a film has been tagged a gay movie in America, many people will probably not watch it.

  • I just have to ask: why on earth is a musical labeled "gay" or "queer" or even "lesbian"?

Some of the reviews on American sites also noticed the movie was only popular with the gay-scene in America.
