1. Get a picture of an eye(obviously, haha)
2. Go to COLORS-BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST... Add a little brightness then add a little contrast for your desired effect, don't overdo it!
3. Use the HEALING TOOL to make blemishes disappear. Hold down CTRL and click a place that is flawless that is close to the skin tone of the blemish. Unhold CTRL. Then click the blemish until it is gone.
4. Use the SMUDGE TOOL to make unnecessary details of the skin that will distract the viewer from the main focal point. Use a 50% or less opacity, using about a size 1 or less brush. It is very important in this part that you don't overdo it! You don't want your eye looking completely fake!
5. Use the DODGE tool and draw around the iris. Especially if you want more color pigment in the iris, don't dodge as much as I did.
6. Since the burn tool doesn't work very well in gimp, I used the FREE SELECT TOOL to cover the ring around the iris and then went to COLORS-BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST and darkened it a bit and contrasted it just a bit.
7. Now to add the color I went to LAYER-NEW LAYER Then on the new layer I colored the inner part of the iris green by using the AIRBRUSH TOOL You can pick whichever color you with of course.
8. DONE! ;)
