@rodjilius Kool G Rap is ARGUABLY the GOAT since he's been KILLING verses for 20-25 YEARS, basically started whole verses being multi-syllabic rhymes (especially the whole verse ish) along w/ BDK/Rakim (but he's FAR MORE relevant in 2011 than those 2). MY top 20 ILL lyricists in no order: KGR, Big Pun, Nas, PRIME Em (96-02/early 03), Big L, BIG, Pharoahe Monch, Black Thought, Common, Mos Def, Kweli, PRIME Redman, Canibus, ELZHI, Tonedeff, Louis Logic, Crooked I, Diabolic, One Be Lo, Juice

@HipHopHead15 Rakim and G Rap were from the same era, but had different styles. If you listen to " I ain't no joke" by Rakim, thats how he sounded in the 80's. If you listen "Wanted Dead Or Alive" by G Rap thats how he sounded in the 80's. Rakim didn't start using multi's thoroughly until later on in his career, while G Rap was spitting them from day one.
