I recently bought some new soft pastels and I remembered an Artist named Maria Wiley uses them along with her acrylics so I thought hmmm this would be a great time to try them in my style of art.
I decided not to time-lapse the whole thing because folks enjoy the details (or so I've been told) Anyway stay tune for part 2.
i love this piece! i really like your style of drawing/painting. and i also like that u dont speed up your process of making the piece in the video. :) great job!

@randomdancing8 Thanks a lot. I am glad you like the regular pace vids although I do sometimes speed them up. Mainly because its usually hours of footage sometimes days. But I have gotten a lot of positive feedback about the regular ones so will try to keep a good mix going.

Nice work so far RA. You might want to look into pan pastels for larger areas too. They are wonderful. I painted with soft pastels for quite a while and love them. Thank you for NOT calling them CHALK! That drives me crazy. I worked mostly on super fine sandpaper. It really holds the pastels and makes them very rich and soft in looks. My first time I actually sanded my fingers down until they were raw- what an amateur I was!! LOL I had no finger prints at the time. Looking forward to part 2.

@momapes Thanks Mo I will have to check them out. I never knew fine sandpaper was even an option. However it sounds like it would be a bit painful especially with my eczema. But I will look into sum paper that has a little more tooth to it.
