I followed him from Crokenhill and Gillingham right the way through. Not exactly Neymar and yes, he did score A LOT of headers but it fills my heart to see so many positive comments about my childhood hero. Cheers Cas!

eligible or not we don't care! he's still a legend in marseille! come on cascarino allez l'OM!
-
@Shaftsus well he evidently abided by those rules since he got to play for ireland. even if didnt really think he was eligble, he actually was so what is your argument?
-
@MrHopeTelevision Fifa doesn't abide by the laws of any country - it makes it's own rules which all the participating countries have to abide by. So if a player is taking part in a tournament he has to abide by the Fifa/Sporting body's rules. Cascarino was ineligible to play if that was the case.
-
@Shaftsus because he is ignorant of irish law too
-
@MrHopeTelevision yah I didn't research it but then why does Cascarino himself admit he shouldn't have been eligible to play for us ? ??
-
@Shaftsus yes you clearly dont know the law lol
-
@MrHopeTelevision look I don't know what way it works but his Irish granny wasn't a blood relative, therefore making him ineligible to play for Ireland by Fifa's rules. By the time he found this out it was 1996 he had already over 50 caps for Ireland lol,,,,
-
@Shaftsus The adoption of his mom gained her the right to Irish citizenship so he WAS eligible
-
@MrHopeTelevision he wasn't - it was found out his "Irish" grandmother was actually originally italian but adopted into an Irish family which made him ineligible to play for ireland lol....but i was too late by the time they found that out...
He brought Marseille back in the first division...
Guth raibh maith agat Tony.
