I receive this station from Texas often.....but never before at this signal.

I'm about 320 miles northwest from the transmitter and can receive the station with a bad antenna. That station's nighttime output is only 880 watts at the time you received it and at that distance and signal condition, that is amazing.

Great catch!! Here in Tampa, Florida KVNS often booms in real good and even dominates the frequencey even though there's a much closer station on 1700 in south Florida

That is amazing. I used to listen to this station on occasion when I lived in Houston, only about 300 miles from Brownsville, because we didn't have an oldies station. Goodness. Good catch.

Hi my Icom is standard no mods...the only thing I have added to the receiver is the ssb narrow filters fl222 and fl223 cheers and beers Mark
