Really everyone throws around the word socialism for it is scary and invisible. It only works in theory and is used as a cover for organizations that can carry out only the slightest hint of the word. Like USSR United Soviet Socialist Republic or the NAZI party, National workers socialist party.

31Guitar is right about Mussolini and Franco. "Fascism" is not one singular, all-encompassing political ideology-- it's not even necessarily right wing by definition.

The closest thing to fascism today is actually the European Union and the gradual emergence of global governance by neocons and international financiers. In Europe, the way EU measures are forced through by the political elite and the way referendums are bypassed or ignored has become rather Orwellian-1984ish
