Kicking off the Indy top tens today with a man who has been many places over the past eight years or so. Sonjay Dutt's first exposure was, ironically, before he even became a pro wrestler, when he appeared in the Best of Backyard Wrestling video series under the name "Nightmare." He competed in the first two videos, in two matches that spread all over his neighborhood, and even to the roof of his high school. He decided he wanted to become a wrestler, and began training. His first big break came when he debuted for the rapidly rising CZW. His debut consisted of him eliminating himself from a Battle Royal, before taking the Hardcore Drop from Nick Gage. His dancing became a bit of a distraction to himself, costing himself matches, but even then, he began rising up the ranks. In September, he, Chri$ Ca$h began a feud that would see Dutt taking the Ca$h Flow off of a ladder on a few occasions. Dutt began winning over the fans with his incredible ability, and he, Ruckus, and M Dogg 20 did battle at Cage of Death IV for an opportunity to face Trent Acid for the CZW Jr. Heavyweight Title. Dutt won, and two weeks later, he took Acid to the limit before being defeated. His feud with Chri$ Ca$h continued into 2003, and even into the Best of the Best Tournament. Dutt advanced, and caught a bit of a break when Ruckus was pulled from the tournament due to injury. His replacement ended up being Mark Briscoe, but Dutt won in a big upset, and after some assistance from Homicide, Dutt was in the finals, which he lost to B-Boy. Undeterred, Dutt continued to rise, and later that year, he and Ruckus engaged in a feud after Ruckus' heel turn. At Cage of Death V, Dutt reached his peak when he upset Ruckus for the Jr. Heavyweight Title. Dutt rode that momentum to Best of the Best IV, where he marched through Nate Webb, Petey Williams, Bobby Quance, and Roderick Strong to win the tournament. However, his victory was short lived, when M Dogg 20 made a surprise return, and stole the belt from Dutt. The rest of the year, the two feuded over the belt, and at Cage of Death VI, the two fought in a final, brutal match in which M Dogg almost sent Dutt packing from CZW. However, justice prevailed, and Sonjay won, sending M Dogg out of CZW instead. Dutt was then asked to wrestle in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH and Zero One MAX, taking on Ebessan, Alex Shelley, Masato Tanaka, and Christopher Daniels during the tour. Returning to the states, he found himself in TNA, and in the X Division hunt. As time went on, however, Sonjay disappeared, and eventually resurfaced briefly in ROH. Dutt's style uses his speed and agility, for the most part. The Calcutta Cutter is primarily used to stun the opponent, to set them up for further punishment. The Sonjay Cutter is used similarly, but can also put the opponent down for the three count. The Moonsault Double Stomp is a ribcage murderer, while the Hindu Press is Dutt's favorite move, and one that has dispatched many of his toughest opponents.
