Here we have it! The BFD drum software, Alesis Trigger IO, and the RET Percussion Stealth kit.

This is just a peak into what I've found the Virtual Percussion Technology package can do. I'm hoping to get more in depth with the functions of the BFD software, Alesis IO, and RET kit.

Keep in mind that this video is a few years old and many more software titles have come out! Check my newer videos for BFD2, Superior Drummer 2.0, EZdrummer, Addictive Drums, and other fine VPT software packs!

  • it seems like it would be to confusing is havin that software and a triggerio box better than a good module

  • No way! It's so easy, especially when you have the full VPT (Virtual Percussion Technology) package, which comes standard and Pre-Loaded from my store!

  • Looks like a macbook you,ve got there mikey? What Mac are you using? I am thinking of touring with a VPT kit. I have Superior DRummer 2 and a Roland kit that i really like. But i need a computer and a low latency interface.. What du you use?? Cheers from sweden/ Lenny

  • Hehehe... I believe I'm using my Gateway here. No Mac (although all the VPT Software is Mac compatible).

    I have 3 laptops that I run:

Sony Vaio (1 gig of RAM, normal processor speed) - I use this for EZdrummer and Addictive Drums

Gateway (2 gigs of RAM) - I run BFD2 and Superior Drummer 2 here.

Alienware (3 gigs of RAM, great processing speed) - I can use anything I want on this one.

I use the PreSonus FireBox for it's outputs, but any low latency external card will work.

    Thanks!

  • Honestly whats the best vpt software around?

  • Hmm... what's the BEST VPT SOFTWARE?

I would go with BFD2 if you like to engineer your overall sound.

I would use Superior Drummer 2 if you need semi-mastered sounds to work with.

I would use EZdrummer if you're just looking to play and record easily.

I would use Addictive Drums if you need quick loads and great sounds.

    Does that help?

    Thanks for subscribing, Logan!

  • I saw that vid. Type in RET and Alesis Trigger IO. It's a really good vid on the acoustic sound of the kit.

  • Hey Mikey!

Can you do your own sounds with software on computer and then bring them to your pads/triggers with Trigger IO?

  • Hey Mikey! I was just wondering, if I had BFD, could I use my electric Drumset with midi I/Os to control that software through an audio interface? just wondering! Thanks Mikey!

  • hey, nice videos and stuff. My band wants to record and they want me to use electric drums. I'm not a big fan of electric drums, i like playing acoustic kits. So one of the members suggested EZdrumming. I just wanna know, do i need to buy a new electronic drumkit for this? I dont think my dad would let me, i'd rather get some drum mics and play on my acoustic.
