@edb1980 You still have studies at Musicians Institute, a University Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Paul Gilbert also had to study music to get to where they are. And just as you can study Computer Science for some things, but there is a business in music too, such as Movie and film soundtrack compositions, video game compositions too.
