Hello everybody listen and learn
Imma tell you something that you probably never have heard
Imma talk about the history of the bboys and girls
And how their moves had changed the whole wide world
But since we in the US, lets narrow it down
Lets focus on the states, the majority crowd
It all started in the city of BROOKLYN
Way before jay-z and Biggie had them BOOKIN
Our little story starts with Kool DJ herc
Who spun the records, makin the crowds go beserk
As the track spun these breakers would just get down
Using four basic steps to get around
Well start with top rock to secure the spot
Including indian step to make the place get hot

Now we transition to the moves of power

As the east brought heat with the crazy breaks
The west brought funk style which brought less aches
Poppin and lockin with no traditional flow
Brother james brown is probably best known

Tried to do a move but who was he kiddin
No flexibility he kept getting caught
At first it was weird but then it looked hot

The lock seemed to dominate the spot
Late 70s a new style evolved from locking
Boogaloo Sam created poppin
Flexing and relaxing the big fat muscles
Makin it smooth with the waves and rolls
Poppin absorbed many different styles
The robot, boogaloo and animation too
That sums the history of the west
Some say the best but I only suggest
East and west fused as one
Created something new that Mike begun
