@gingcrf450 I have to say... i've cleaned it with WD40 a few years ago and the crasher lost sound. i was pissed.
and then a friend made a homemade crasher, made out of stainless steel plates, and it completely blew my mind. his crasher was MUCH louder.

@FullForceDrummer sorry "rag" is english slang for a cloth or similar.
-
@gingcrf450 What do you mean with "on a rag", Sorry, i am from Germany and don't know what you mean, and yes, I asked Google ;)

@FullForceDrummer Use WD-40 on a rag and wipe over
i have a question for what do you use that thing when you play drums for efects o for what
yoper54 7 months ago
@yoper54 there are many types of use for the ribbon. The main use is as a crash, expecially for short riding effect or for trashy and rapid accents (as a stack). It can be used also as a "metallic" snare, for jungle o electronic music. You can also play the ribbon crasher with the snare drum to create a new hybrid sound putting the ribbon near to the batter rim.

Hi,
did you bend the metal plates, or did you hit them right out of the box?
I'm asking this because my plates are bended way more and they produce a different sound and they don't jump up when i hit them.

@GueDrum Hi, I've not bent the metal plates, this is its "free" real sound. I've also tried to bent the metal plates in the past with two elastic bands: the sound was shorter, less trashy, more closed and the metal plates didn't jump as in this video obviously ;)

John, thanks for posting this.
Sam Fogarino (Interpol) is using one in his recent drum setup. Can you tell me if he is using an 11" or 15"?
If you have a couple of minutes, please search for "interpol jimmy kimmel live 2010" on YouTube. The songs are Barricade and Summer Well. YouTube will not let me paste the links in my comments...
Thanks!
