Hammond B3 vs Nord C1

We adjusted and compared the Nord C1 to Hammond B3.
Firstly: C1 into the B3 preamp, than go to Leslie 142, and later into the Zsolt Kaltenecker's Bose amplification.
Good instrument, but i little bit missed from sound the most deeper low and higher top.

Great job tehtube. I can hear some small difference but it's still a good instrument. One thing though, was the pitch bent on the C1? The B3 is higher?

Thanks. Yes. I forgot controlled the B3's tuning on freq. ch. panel. A little bit higher by time. The C2 are better sounding instrument.

often imitated....never duplicated hammond can not be beat i dont care if its a korg yamaha roland kurzwiel casio whatever....if it aint comin out of a real tonewheel hammond with a real leslie it just aint gonna have da same flavor. nord...no.

Same problem with clones. They don't trigger the same way as a B3. Its as if the software has to decide what it wants to do, sound like a B3 or react like a B3 and there is a sense of hesitation between the two which causes the player to stumble in execution of the notes. Even after you heard the B3 being played @2:00 your reaction on the Nord was a little clumsy, you stumbled trying to pick up from the B. Getting something to sound like a B3 is different than getting something to react as a B3.

i'll take a good clone over the hammond simply because ofv the 400lb weight difference.

Ah ok gotcha. Yeah I like the C2 better as well, even more so for the pipe organ. Nice videos :)
