Featuring: Triang R753 E3001 [Single Pantograph] hauling a rake of car/van transporters. Hornby R338 hauling 11 wheel-carrying wagons. 2 x Triang R152 Diesel Shunters [double-header] in black/blue liveries, R739 large breakdown 75 ton crane, R620 BR engineers coach, R740 Thompson breakdown coach [riding] & guards van.

All the rolling wheels on the 11 wheel-carrying wagons have been changed for new Hornby metal wheels.

This is my temporary layout and it's a bit 'round & round' for the moment! I have pinched every inch out of my small spare room for now with a view to moving everything into the attic/loft in the New Year [2012].....hence no ballast, grass, sceenary etc yet. Thanks for your interest and dropping by. Cheers, John.

  • Hello John, i just picked-up a breakdown crane (wheathered) and was wondering if you know which loco other than the ones you use , would pull that set?

  • @scotrail1 Hi again buddy, OK, I'm asumming you have the Hornby 75 ton crane [weathered].....if so, I think any British tank loco or industrial electric/diesel would be suitable. I don't think there's any real rule-of-thumb here.

    Cheers, John.

  • Hi, thanks for your kind words. At the moment it is all DC but once its all in the attic I'm going for at least 6 main lines or maybe more. I will then have dedicated DC & DCC lines.

I also intend to keep at least two lines of Super 4 track as on some loco's it's not practical to be changing all the wheels/flanges.

    Cheers, John.
