@arkansastrash320 I respectfully disagree. Before the Aspen, Dad had a Dodge Colt (built by Mitusbishi). One day without warning, on the NY State Thruway the engine blew up. In all fairness, thats probably a Mitsubishi thing. My brother in law had a Dodge/Mitsubishi pickup truck that did the same thing, along with my mom's friend's Mitsubishi van. As for the rust, it was way up inside the car. Couldnt see it or reach it. The engine was a p.o.s., too.
@MrCzechers Chrysler products don't suck! You should have caught the rust and stopped it just cause it rusted don't make it a bad car!!!! Rust will grow if you don't clean the metal and see to it that its not holding water.(Chrysler) engines are second to none including GM and Ford.
My dad had a 79 Aspen that he later gave to me. Worst car EVER! It rusted behind the firewall, and 2 panels seperated. The result: Any time it rained, water ran in and soaked my feet. This also rotted out the carpet.
The family car that my family had was a 1977 Dodge Aspen Custom. It had its share a problems but,it was a dependable car for 5 years. After it was sold it ran for another 5 years.
At $4015 in todays dollars its still a rip off. The only thing good was the engine and somewhat the transmission. Otherwise the rest of the car was a trouble plagued P.O.S., rust out in a couple years.
