  • you really do need a hose for your sink. you must get all that out. thanks for sharing. he is a beauty.

  • I know!!! I just end up rinsing and rinsing and rinsing forever. Thankfully the cats are very tolerant. I fill the sink up about half way and "float" the coat so water gets in between the fur and skin. I get rave reviews from the judgings on my grooming :)

  • by the way - Percy's a rescue kitty. He was picked up as a stray by the Seattle Animal Shelter when he was 2 1/2. Skin and bones - weighed six pounds! He's a healthy 10.9 lbs now and such a little love. I adore this little guy :)

  • oh, that is so cool. you go girl! aren't the shows fun? I am on a new search for a young male for my girl, cannot wait to have a kitten running around again. I bathe in my kitchen sink too and I have a hose, but the water doesn't come out fast enough for me! enjoy your feline.

  • You want to breed your cat? Are you an experienced breeder? Is this a cat from Champion bloodlines? Are you trying to better the breed?

  • @NinjaHotel Did you even READ the description of this video? This is FOR A SHOW. Many Persians, however, DO need regular bathing even if they aren't showing as their coats can be prone to greasiness all over their coats. And the greasiness makes the coat mat more.

  • Persians and other cats, that live only in house, don't need bathing. Maybe for males, tails should be washed, because tails tend to get greasy.

Anyway, I haven't washed my cat since I brought him home, 10 years now, and he smells so goooood! We only groom him, and his still fluffy.

  • Yes! Any cat of no particular breed, cats that are obvious purebreds but without papers (like my three - all from shelters) or purebreds that don't fit the breed standard can show as Household Pets. You get rosettes, points and titles just like the pedigreed cats. I'll email you a link for more info as you can't post URL's in the comments.

  • hmm i c:) lol just a thought. on another note, can a mixed breed cat be shown? my cat is amazing, shes ALWAYS swooned over, if so how dose one go about it?? i think my cat would be great for showing.

  • Well the Goops really more for showing them. Just makes the coat float up off the body better. Is she greasy at all? If so it could help.
