This is not a particulary balanced presentation however....surely it is no more accurate to describe this as the real face of Islam than it would be to describe transatlantic slavery and colonialism as the real face of Christianity?

@Abigmandis , this is part of Islamic history , which includes slavery, not the description of Islam.

Abigmandis, this is part of human history. It changes the whole view of slavery from purely Western event (so eternal shame on the West) to something that was done by everyone until from the West came liberation. Quite a change, don't you think.

It also explains that end of slavery in Muslim countrues came together with Westernization and modernization. And with return to "original Islam" the way salafis (wahabis) want it, slavery too will probably return. Which explains its return in Sudan.

christianity does not allow slavery,islam does,muhammed even called his african slaves"raisin heads".It was because of christian european pressure that the islamic countries were forced to abolish islam"unfortunatly it still exists in mauritania and genocides on africans still happen in Darfur
