I was disappointed with the result, as I'm an Isles fan, but it was an exciting game, that's for sure.

and since the devils entered the league in 1982/83 the rangers have won just one cup to the devils 3. the devils have hung 16 banners to the rangers 5 during this time and the rangers have only hung 20 banners in their pathetic history! the rangers also have 57 years on the devils too. it's so sad that ranger fans have to compete with a team that's only been around for 27 years. the rangers also have not won a cup in this century and most likely won't. 1994 LETS GO OILERS!
u can make all the assumptions u want, but the rangers still have 4 cups and the devils only have 3. the original 6 era didnt suck! theres still a lot of ppl saying today that the NHL made a mistake expanding into so many teams, cuz there's a lot of teams who don't have enough fans to be supported. the players were passionate, their jobs were on the line because so very few existed. if it sucked, why does the nhl still honor all the legends like richard, beliveau, gilbert, mikita, mahovlich etc.
you have to believe that the rangers not so many accomplishments are great and if they don't win their conference or division it's no big deal. that's what ranger fans have to believe. their first 3 cups were won in a 6 to 8 team pick up league. if you really believe that's a great accomplishment then you brainwashed yourself to have to believe that. getting 8 players from edmonton and 7 from chicago shows that new york couldn't win the cup by using players from their system. therfore they suck.
it wasn't a pick-up league, it was the National Hockey League where the Stanley Cup was awarded. let me get this straight, the devils won the atlantic division last year, but pittsburgh won the cup. you're proud of that? at the time the cup is awarded, the rest doesn't matter anymore. the cup is the only thing that matters. the rangers have 4, and the devils only have 3. all of the ex-oilers wanted to play for the rangers, so that makes them rangers and apart of their system
there was no real intrest for hockey in the usa back then. it could easily be compared to womens basketball of today. i'm proud of every one of the devils accomplishments. all teams play during the reg season to win their division and conference. i guess you didn't know that you can't win the cup during the reg season. the attitude of a ranger fan has always been to at least make the playoffs because there's no hope in being # 1 in N.Y. --- NY OILERS have 1 cup to NJs 3 cups since 1982/83.
of course ik that you can't win the cup during the regular season, its what i've been trying to tell u this whole time. you don't make any sense, the original six era was the golden age of hockey, the players were the best of the best because there were so few jobs, and the games were intense. by saying that the rangers cups dont count from then, are you also saying that montreal doesnt have 24, toronto doesnt have 13, detroit doesnt have 11, boston doesnt have 5, and the hawks have none?
the original six era sucked ass big time. there was little competition. the rangers and bruins didn't win one cup during that time and the hawks weren't so hot either. the players back then were slow as shit and the game was all defense. the sticks had no curve so the shots were straight on and low. there were guys in the league with grey hair and bald headed guys. it sucked big time. the cups that the habs and leafs won were won in a shitty pick up league. what are those teams doing today?
