I've been only able to play the first movement of Mendelssohn's first sonata (against my instructor's wishes). But, I tend to call the first sonata the "sunrise" sonata, because of the last movement of the work. I studied 2 of the 3 movements in Mendelssohn's second sonata, and hopefully I'll get around to the fugue. But on the whole, I like Mendelssohn's sonatas, especially numbers 1,2,3 and 6.

I like your playing. Who do you study with? Do you know the other sonatas as well?

I study with Dr. Schneider at Washington State University. I'm familiar with the other sonatas; my favorite is the first sonata, but I like the sixth too.
