  • unions are a cancer for american capitalism.they inflate services for the typical american..when it costs a days wage to have a union plumber un plug your toilet SOMETHINGS WRONG...VOTE REPUBLICAN THIS FALL 2010

  • Dean believes in a secret ballot......BUT ONLY IF IT IS SECRET FROM EMPLOYERS TOO. As a supporter of employee free choice, it has only come to this because of illegal abuses on the part of business and their hired guns who help your boss fire you if you excersice your LEGAL right to join a union.

  • Here is a true story about my experience with a union. Was in Vegas 3 years ago for a large event and we had spent a lot of $ for the event and everything was done via a union shop. The program was printed and one one employee we did not put his middle initial in ti. The union required us to reprint the whole program. $6,750 later, we NEVER used a union since. I saw this union employee and on his floor tag- no middle initial. It is stuff like this that turns employers off from unions.

  • Yeah, Dean sounds very lovely... but frankly I don't even respect the view of anyone that does NOT believe that a secret ballot is a right in a democratic republic. Whatever the perceived evils of businesses and/or Republicans or anyone else may be this evil is no less.

  • Dean's absolutely correct about the middle class giving their votes to Obama/Biden because of the downward spiral of the middle class wage, along with jobs being sent overseas.

I'm all for unions, which not keep the wages competitive, but look out for workers' welfare & safety.

    Good job, Dr. Dean!

  • He didn't really correct him. They're both Hardballers. Dean's smarter though. That's why he's where he's at. Mathews is a smart mutha too, tho. We should all support the labor movement. We shouldn't, however, let our unions become corrupt. That's when American quality goes down the tubes.
