@SRTifiedRAM Yeeeeaaaaahhhh thats what I'm talking about haha. A supercharger sounds awsome right now. I was thinkin about getting one as well but not for a couple of years until until i have enough money to buy a new motor and tranny just in case something does happen i can just replace it, or I might just buy a new truck haha. But for brakes thanks for the tips I will be looking into them sometime soon but first I need a better defferential something thats not OPEN :(
@dodgeperformance1 - StopTech offers some pretty good brake applications as well. You certainly have plenty of options. I guess what it all boils down to is getting something looks the best, for the most reasonable price. I'll probably be looking into getting the Baer upgrade kit sometime in the next few years. Not right now though. I'm trying to save for my Magnuson supercharger. :p haha
@dodgeperformance1 - If I had the extra money sitting around to throw at my truck for upgrades, I'd probably go with the Baer claw track brake kit. They range anywhere from around $1,000 to upwards of $1,700, depending on where you get/order them from. Brembo brakes definitely work exceptionally well, but if one thing is for certain; you're definitely going to pay for them. The cheapest big brake kit they offer is $1,400 and go all the way up to $5,179. (<-- NOT a typo) It's pretty ridiculous.
@SRTifiedRAM yea i believe so especially when the tundra uses a weird braking traction contrl system which stops certain wheels using the brakes to force power to go through to the other side depending which side has more traction. but yes that does seem like a good deal. I will check the out on Ebay soon. I have also heard about StopTech or Brembo brakes also being good but since I haven't stepped into the aftermarket yet I still need to get my feet wet so to speak
@dodgeperformance1 - ..more at the time, but right now, they're $233.55 for a buy it now price with free shipping. I'd definitely check 'em out. They're not that expensive at all and the quality/performance out of them are impressive, considering the price.
@dodgeperformance1 - Although the Tundras may have their 4-piston calipers, after reviewing both, the 2011 Dodge Ram with the 2011 Toyota Tundra for braking from 60, the Ram out-stopped the Tundra 135 ft. to 139 ft. (For clarification, both were extended cab models, not crew) Maybe Toyota still needs to refine their braking system a bit. ha
About where I got my brakes though; I purchased my drilled & slotted rotors (w/ ceramic pads) off Ebay from a company called Brake Motive. I paid slightly..
@SRTifiedRAM about half throttle is when id like it to be heard. plus i got dicks for neighbors and cops dont fancy a 20yr old driving a nice truck especially when its washed lol. where and how much were your rotors and pads? that sounds like they would greatly help when i start towing my dads trailer somtime this summer or next year and are you thinking about getting the caliper changed? i know the tundras have 4 piston calipers in the front which kinda took me by surprise
@SRTifiedRAM around them but keep it with two light bulbs for the kit i think they look better than some that ive seen with only one bulb for both high and low beams. i been thinking about getting the DOD16M or 18M from magnaflow but im not really sure im not so much for a super loud truck im tryin to keep it a sleeper since a lot of the cars and trucks ive raced dont think that these trucks are beasts. i would like it to have a lil bit more rumble at idle but when you get on it...
@SRTifiedRAM yea i know what you mean well i bought the truck in 09 with 1 mile on the odometer and that was most likely from my test drive when i drove it with my dad. i got it when i graduated so i got it when i just turned 18 and no im not spoiled for the others that may read this i saved a shit load of money and my parents said they would match what i saved which wasnt really needed cuz the sticker said $42k but we snagged it for $27k i want to do a HID conv. kit too with halo..
@dodgeperformance1 - Future add-ons will consist of ARH long tube headers & high flow cats, DOD14M Magnaflow muffler & Borla exhaust. The headers & exhaust are pretty expensive but it's well worth it to me. I already have the chip, intake & throttle body spacer which are good enough for right now. Who knows, I might purchase a 90mm BBK SRT-8 throttle body, too. That alone should add at least another 10-15 hp. Needless to say, these upgrades can't come soon enough! ha
