  • @MrNativeDancer Cats have been here so long now there is an actual balance, next door to me has 3 cats, I have robins, blackbirds nest in my garden and from my observations cats only catch the weaker birds that dont have their wits about them, remember the flying cats too, sparrow hawks and other birds of prey? or do they not count, they kill frogs, newts, mice, birds, sparrow hawk killed both parents from a song thrush nest, luckly for them I rescued and reared the chicks lol so why be selective?

  • @SENSIBLECHEMIST Scottish wild cats have been here for well over 10,000 years! let me tell you they are more preditory then the domestic cat. The domestic cat is just a smaller version of our TOTALLY NATIVE WILD CAT! PERIOD! If they really did kill the amount of wild life they say they do there would be nothing left by now. Would you rather see millions of starving birds because nothing preys on them and they eat all the food and have nothing to eat, or a healthy population? Fact is Fact

  • This is better than watching the footy.

  • @MrNativeDancer I don't think the domestic cat is an indigenous species to the UK so 10000 years would be wrong. Anyway just because they kill the odd rat doesn't make up for all the birds and reptiles and mammals and insects they kill IMO.

  • @MrNativeDancer The Brown Rat is more harmful to nature then the Domestic Cat is! PERIOD Often squirrels get the blame for what Rats have done in the night time! Rats cause more trouble then they are worth!

  • @SENSIBLECHEMIST Remember Cats kill rats too, rats kill birds and pull there heads off, ask any pigeon keeper or any one who has had their avery broken into by rats! Cats are great rat control. Cats have been here for 10,000 years plus

  • Hiya its me again, forgot to ask in my previous post. What does the farmer do with the hay/straw bails after this?

    Cheers again Roger

  • Hi there Guys, I love the video showing the rat problem. It's really good to see rural life the way it has been done for years, and that the youngsters are envolved in this and not stuck behind some game or another. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.

    Roger

  • Hi Gang, Can i join?

    Regards

    Roger

  • 21:15 "You see that 'white and Black' bale over there...?" Yeah sure right next to the 'Black and white' bale yeah!?
