Big SEASONAL store chains WILL come and Local Buisnesses WILL get pushed out. eventually this will become a SEASONAL retreat. Everyone that lives there WILL have to move for work!!! Leave Moosehead be!!! F&#$ Resorts!!!
resort developement? isn't that what Squaw Mountain Ski area was supposed to be? that failed in decade long corruption enabled by the state of maine. dirty politics in maine helped al-qaeda cells prepare for 911. they stayed at folsom's camp in horseshoe pond.
I really hope we can save Moosehead. We're talking about the largest wilderness area east of the Mississippi - Plum Creek wants to turn it into a plastic playground for the rich. Just for the almighty dollar. And please - the jobs they're talking about are crap jobs with crap wages serving the out-of-state elite in their luxury vacation homes & hotel suites. I think we should kick Plum Creek out of the North Woods. For good.
In Plum Creeks DEED when they bought the land, it was agreed that they would not develop the land. That's why they are asking now. All you Moosehead people have to say is NO. End of story. VOTE NO!!
you know that saying if u build they will come well there wrong because this place is way out of know where espically by caseys camps which i have my own camp down a side road on that road and in the casey camps area and we dont even have running water and that wot the places like this are suppose to be like with technology that area is one of the most untouched and they want to put a golf course? Plum creek shoudl just stick to trees
PS - I meant "deceiving "beauty strips" bordering on the RIVER itself" above. It's no wilderness - it's a river running through an overly harvested tree farm - it's a joke.
On a side note Ms. LaMarche is EXACTLY right in the youtube video "Environment2006 Allagash Wilderness Waterway" (which is closed for comments) when she basically called the Allagash Wilderness a joke - a pathetic river with deceiving "beauty strips" bordering on the wilderness itself, with clearcuts as far as the eyes can see just beyond the beauty strips.

Maine is a joke - a joke with lot's of potential. Until they grow trees back and preserve the forest me and my money will go to the Adirondacks.
