Sorry for all the shaking, the way the tracks are made, that is how the video will always turn out. I mounted the camera to the top of the Santa Fe GP60M warbonnet with a Suction Cup Tripod mount. I hope you enjoy this video, and come check out our layout sometime!

  • Wow what a sight to see. I have not been there in ages. I can remember when the club first put in the trestle at 4:00. What are the walls for at the top? I see you have removed Leo's bedroom and all of the interesting pedestrian bridges (much more handicap accessible). Do the Conways still serve club meals?

What a fun thing it was to do that summer to put all that dirt in to grade next to the road at 5:00

  • @wi11y1960 I unfortunately honestly don't know, I just became a member last year. I'll be there today, and I'll ask around, so expect another comment from me with an answer to your question.

  • Great video man. Really neat! Great job. At 8:35 what runs on that track up above? is it for the museum?

  • @UnionPacific18 That is part of what was going to be a full size railroad to the Los Angeles Zoo, from the Travel Town Museum. Obviously, it was shot down, because as you can see, it would go right into LALS, and that was not allowed by LALS.

  • This is a great trip video. I'm sure you realize Walt Disney was a great train fan, and he sponsored this layout in the beginning.

I've been on that track driving a GP60M, that my son built from flat steel up!!! and I built the electric control system for him. That engine would pull over 40 cars loaded with passengers. What fun. Were you the engineer on the train I'm watching?? Power was from two 100 Amp Hr Interstate batteries.

  • @MrW6MX No, I'm just qualified to be a conductor at this club. I was sitting behind the engineer, making sure the camera didn't fall off.
