Sam Downie (Dsoundz Media) interviews Leo Laporte at TWiT. For all the latest information visit: http://www.twit.tv

Leo Laporte currently owns and operates a online netcast network called, TWiT.tv. The name is derived from the network's award-winning flagship podcast This Week in Tech, or TWiT, which is hosted by Laporte along with a rotating panel of guests.

This show remains one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes and other podcast subscription services, as evidenced by winning an award at the November 2005 Podcasting Expo in California for the year's best podcast and by its over 280,000 weekly downloads.

Leo Laporte prefers to call his shows "netcasts," saying "I've never liked the word podcast. It causes confusion ... people have told me that they can't listen to my shows because they 'don't own an iPod' ... I propose the word 'netcast.' It's a little clearer that these are broadcasts over the Internet. It's catchy and even kind of a pun.".

  • Pretty well-produced interview -- great graphics, audio, cool to see behind the scenes at the new TWiT studio -- but PLEASE buy a tripod. In-camera image stabilization isn't good enough to make up for all the motion. Also, the camera doesn't need to be so close to you or even your subject.

  • @penetrode thanks and I hope you enjoyed listening to Leo tell you more information about TWiT and it's tech? But alas.. this video was shot on a iPhone4 - so, no tripod you might guess. I don't have the funding that TWiT does.

  • Have you heard about tripod, Mr Shaky hands? Fail!

  • @Agnostic2008 sorry, but this video was shot on a iPhone4 - so, no tripod you might guess.. But, it's the interview that's interesting and informative, about TWiT. I don't have the funding that TWiT does.

  • Leo Laporte = the nicest man on the Internet. Great interview Sam, thanks.

  • @codifier100 thanks - and sorry about the camera work, it was shot on a iPhone4 (without a tripod)
